Apelli fuit alioqui perpetua consuetudo numquam tam occupatum diem agendi, [ut non lineam ducendo exerceret artem, quod ab eo in proverbium venit].

Apelle avait une habitude à laquelle il ne manquait jamais : c’était, quelque occupé qu’il fût, de ne pas laisser passer un seul jour sans s’exercer en traçant quelque trait; cette habitude a donné lieu à un proverbe.
